A trip to Daron's Old Stomping Grounds!!

Well, after having our friend Greg Long over after a long bike ride w/ LB and Daron, we decided to drop in on him at his house (in Downieville).  We showed up at 10:30-11 am (Daron, Lily, Warren, and I).  Greg and I had to dig out the sleds (literally the MX was gone under the snow).  Then we had to replace the belt on the MX which was a grunt and curse laden experience.  Finally we realized we had to break the track free and rotate it in order to pop the last bit of belt on (thankfully!!).  Warren and Daron doubled on the MX, Lily and I doubled on the SkiDoo 600 while Greg rocked his bad to the bone SD 8-0-0!!  We ripped along the road at 40+ MPH and to the drop spot where there was a half covered road and some summer cottages on the lake.  From there a 2 hr hike dropped us on top of the Buttes.  The visibility gods would end up shunning us for the day as cloud cover blanketed the top, rendering us unable to see more than 20' down the run.  We begrudgingly turned around and with a little crack in the clouds were able to descend our skin track, and actually got a good few turns.  Warren had to bail to go to see Les Claypool in South Lake, but Lily, Daron, and I don't have to be anywhere and decide to stay at Greg's to have another crack at the summit.  Pics actually from day 2.  1- Lily riding the main gully after the initial hanging snowfield.  2- Greg riding the steeps  3- Lily soaking it in w/ beautiful turns  4- Daron doing the same  5- Gully love you long time!!
